At High Street we believe that you can find hope and salvation through a personal relationship with Jesus. He wants to come into our lives, save us and transform us. He wants to be your hope and your salvation.

What is Salvation?

The Bible teaches that all people are sinful by nature and therefore are separated from a holy God. This separation is the foundational problem of humanity.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

Ephesians 2:1-3 “And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.” Ephesians 2:1-3

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Jesus Chris left heaven and came to earth to serve and die for us. This act of humility reveals his great love for us as he offered a payment for our sins.

“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Might God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

“But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one — to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” Isaiah 53:5-6

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!” John 1:29

“All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. And they made His grave with the wicked—But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth.” Isaiah 53:6-9

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

At the heart of Christianity is a relationship with God based on faith. Being a Christian means believing in the good news of Jesus Christ. We must turn away from sin and towards Jesus.

“Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” Romans 10:9-10

“For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raided.” 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

When we become a Christian, God’s grace completely transforms us, giving us a desire to live for him. This grace carries us through our entire life until we are with him in heaven.

“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:1-4

“For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.” 1 Thessalonians 4:14

“For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:52
