As a Small Group leader you play a crucial role in the mission of High Street. We want our church to encourage people to grow in these three vital relationships: intimacy with God, community with insiders, and influence with outsiders. You will be used by God to facilitate this growth in your group. Our hope is that you do not feel alone in your efforts and we want to stay connected with you, encourage you, and provide you with the tools and ideas below to lead your group effectively. Life is better connected.
Congratulations on being approved for leadership!
As you lead, have conversations with your Groups Director, and engage in training opportunities, you'll hear about the Three Vital Relationships again and again. That's because they're key indicators of spiritual growth - ways for you to measure the health of your group as well as maintain an awareness of your own growth.
In order to stay connected to God, it's important to recognize how he's involved in your life. We've found there are Five Things God Uses to Grow Your Faith. Your Community Group will be organized around three activities:
We use the Community Group Agreement to align group members' expectations about what group is and what it isn't. The Agreement includes a list of Values & Goals that are helpful in establishing the kind of safe, predictable environment where people feel free to share openly and transparently about themselves.
High Street small groups are encouraged to grow in the third vital relationship of influence with outsiders. We do this through service projects within the community. If your small group would like to provide some form of outreach our service project for your community we would love to help offset some of your costs through a grant!
